Life of a leader in the game of war

Comment: I am leader of my alliance and I cannot keep up with all the crazy updates. The game is no longer fun and it’s only about how much money you can spend. Many small but nice things have taken away from the game such as daily milestone tile. Also, items you can gift to members in your alliance doesn’t match with what is needed, such has hammers and speed ups. We need thousands of hammers to complete a stronghold but we can only send one at a time and speedups are in the billions to finish building, training, etc but we cannot send gift speedups even close to that other gift items as well can only be sent one by one but the receiver may require thousands upon thousands. Forcing players to spend endless amounts of money to keep up. Very disappointing.

Getting ready to leave this game

I started this game a year ago when I was depressed at the growing number of unemployed people like me. At the time I do not have any money to fork out to any kind of recreation. I found this game and liked it because its free. They made me play the game and as I build my empire, I found myself liking the game thinking it might be a good recreation after all. When I closed it. It all disappear after I spent $5. Sure, $5 is nothing. So I started to read articles about this game, I got intrigued by an under aged girl that spent $25,000 more or less in the game. So I said , wow, what’s so special about this game that a rich family will allow their kid to play the game. In short, I played the game as soon as I have the means to do so.

I’ll say it again, I liked the game, so it makes sense to me to pay for other people working to make my gaming possible. BUT, it does not mean that I would allow anyone to cheat me with products or services they promised to give when I pay.

Here’s one example that I complained about with MZ developer and Google pay center.

I purchased a promotional offer of the advertisement recently, May 7th , 2017, that says “2 for 1 for $99.99″,”Weekend Special.” With the running caption at the bottom of the “Weekend Special” are contents of the pack, and more lists of content if you hit the more information tab. There was nowhere in the advertisement that say, that the second pack, which I understand to be free, was actually not free…I had to pay 49.99 for it to get the second pack to get it for free. This 2nd price only appeared after I already paid the $99.99. As soon as I realized what was happening, I submitted a complaint at MZ feed back and told them I have not touch the pack and do not wish to get this pack because I did not receive the second one for free. But I did not get any response. So I called Google payment to get my money back but they said “sorry we cannot help you…you need to call or email MZ developer for the site pricing.” WTF, I told google, “My payment goes with you guys, at least help me to resolve my issue. I do not want the pack because it was falsely advertised.”

For me this is wrong. I am already okay that this game is a paying game. But i got caught more than one time with their bogus sale when specially they say they are on sale for 80% off. Well, it actually means 80% cut of the content of the regular price contents. Now that is a deliberate misrepresentation.

I GOT TIRED OF PAYING AND NOT PLAYING SO I WROTE THIS BLOG.

Lord Sidey – Sadness Ensues…

Over 3 years ago I started Playing Game Of War, when a Million XP was huge achievement. When Crafting custom pieces (not even cores), and custom cores was the power of the game. Strategy. I enjoyed studying the game, researching tactics outside the game, chatting with others about how to STRATEGICALLY advance within the game. As time progressed, purchases kept getting larger. First was a simple 4.99 pack. Then the 9.99 pack to get the same amount of items, to upgrade my buildings to level 10, then 15. To reach hero level 20 it took 49.99 but felt it was not any more benefit than when it was 4.99.
In order to continue to enjoy playing this game, I reached 99.99 packs, sometimes 199.99 packs just to get close to full research. Just to have MZ come out with another research tree. Over and over never quite being able to reach what is considered to be a “big” status within the kingdom. To be able to take hits from rallies and more.
Spending between 100 and 400 per week for my enjoyment should have allowed me to reach such status yet the MZ releases began to accelerate and packs began to help less and less. Then the Billion status was fast approaching, trillion, now KT. It has gotten to the point that the game is not fun anymore, customs are useless, fully researched is useless, defense and health strategies have become useless too. As an experienced player of the game many others turned towards me and others to advise them within the game. To do things like monster events within a KE to help our kingdom, to learning to solo other players and taking that first hero; to joining their first rally. As a leader of 4 alliances that work together to better its players, i spend alot of time working with others. I went from leader of a family group that had become close spending alot of time learning and working together to simply a target. Over 20 percent of our Family of alliances have already left the game.
If I was going to continue as their leader I had to try. I just had to take on the powerful MZ. To try to make MZ listen to its players once again. I started learning about a movement that wanted to get MZ to change its status quo. I learned alot about what was happening and got in very deeply involved. While i am not willing to identify how involved I am within the movement and the GoW Union. I want to clarify and express, my purpose and goal. I enjoy Game of War, I want to salvage what is left of our family, I want to be able to spend money enjoying the game again, but it needs to be valued, not hiding behind false pretenses, mis-represented packs, and purchases that won’t be devalued in days. I don’t want to see the money I spend in game wasted and squandered away just trying to be a big player to help unite our kingdom in battles. Bring back things for the smaller players, bring back fair battles, trap configurations, hero executions. All of these are very doable and let the update releases happen at a slower pace so that people that spend a reasonable ($50-200 a month or less) can spend and actually unshield to try their configurations they worked so hard to build. Bring Strategy back to Game of War, make it a Game of War, not a Game of Wallets..

Had to leave

“I walked away from Game of War about 3 weeks ago. Honestly in 4.5 yes of GOW I had spent over 32k USD in my last account but somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-85k total over the years in various accounts. For me it wasn’t the constant need to spend it was seeing people that just started get to where I was on less than I spent.

The game was fun in the beginning but with the Advent of cores the game began morphing from GOW (Game of War: Fire age) to GOW (Game of Wallets: Spenders wanted non-spenders or low spenders needed). When I say needed that is just it. Spenders needed the non or low spenders because frankly we are lazy, spenders buy to be the big kid and smalls well you guys feed us.”

The game has always been fun to an extent. The social dynamics of the game is what keeps people engaged. Lately the game has increased it’s pace on releases. Glitches, lags and instabilities still plague the game. A couple of years ago it was said they found that clouds, smoke and the glowing alter were the causes of the lag, glitches and instability. The clouds were removed, the forge quit smoking and alter quit glowing. Problem is the game continued to have issues.

As stated earlier these things were taken out but more recently they with exception of the clouds has been reintroduced. Glitches, lag and instability is still outrageous. The company constantly places the blame squarely on the shoulders of the players instead of taking responsibility for their own inadequacies.

There have been so many updates since January of this year that it is staggering. Many of my friends that were just like me and stayed current with the game when something new came out has decided that it is pointless to continue and thus have quit.  When a game “recreation” becomes a need to spend $100 and in most cases more on a daily basis to stay current then it is no longer a game it is an investment. Problem with this is that with investments there is an expected return on that investment. As of the posting of this I can honestly say that it was a $32k loss and one that I have gladly eaten to be away from a game that is no longer a strategy game as they claim.
